Robert L. Mainardi, CFSA, CRMA, MBA, Six Sigma
After 21 years of working in the Internal Audit profession in the financial services industry, Robert started his own company which develops and facilitates custom internal audit training. He also partners with clients to strengthen team communications, relationship building and value production. Remote training is a high priority and focus of Robert’s endeavors. His position on implementation/adoption is that technology must play a role, but innovation has little value if it cannot be successfully integrated into traditional settings.
Prior to starting his company, Robert was Vice President of Internal Audit for Penn Mutual Life Insurance Company. Before that, his experience included roles as a Senior Audit Manager for The Vanguard Group, Audit Consultant for Aetna, and Audit Director for Prudential Insurance.
As a professional speaker and consultant, Robert leads - and creates - tailored client programs to develop and maintain world-class internal audit functions from audit methodology development up to and including CAE reporting which encompassed all critical soft skills. New this year is the release of the AUDIT RISK BAROMETER, an innovative discovery process designed to evaluate a department’s health, stability, approach, execution, and value deliver across six critical categories.
Robert’s acumen and experience has been recognized by Wiley & Sons in his published books - HARNESSING THE POWER of CONTINUOUS AUDITING, and BEYOND AUDIT. He has developed and facilitated training for over 30 years and is internationally recognized as a thought leader. He has been a featured speaker at national and international conferences and other professional association events. He is an active member of the IIA and served as an IIA Philadelphia Chapter Board Member.
He received a BS in Accounting and Business Law from Pennsylvania State University and an MBA in Finance from Temple University. Robert has also merited the Six Sigma Green Belt certification.
